QRILL Pet, our unique marine ingredient, is one of the secrets behind the success of the QRILL Pet Mushing Team. Our ingredient has proven to have beneficial effects on top athletic dogs. It is well-known that the Iditarod race is a thousand mile extreme endurance race tough on the whole body, for both dogs and humans.
In a 2018 study performed during the Iditarod race, we have seen that QRILL Pet had a significant impact on the omega-3 levels in dogs, both at the beginning and the end of the race. The same study also found that there was less muscle damage and 55% less inflammation in dogs on a krill diet.
Other studies, most recent one in 2020, had similar results, showing that an inclusion of krill in dogs' diets can help them to effectively increase and maintain a strong level of omega-3s in their cell membranes.

The QRILL Pet Mushing Team story
In 2018, QRILL Pet set out on a journey to explore the sport of dog mushing by bringing together some of the best mushers in the world, including Iditarod champions Dallas Seavey, Joar Leifseth Ulsom and Thomas Wærner, along with top Norwegian mushers Hanna Lyrek and Marit Beate Kasin. This is how the world's first professional long distance dog sled team came to be!
We wanted not only to bring more attention to the unique sport of dog mushing, but also to continue to investigate and study the effects of our functional ingredient QRILL Pet on some of the world's top dog athletes.
